Sweet & Spicy

WITH HINTS OF TOFFEE & GINGER NOTES

Deep in the reeds of the River Stour, it lies in wait. Patiently. Ready for unsuspecting prey. Once feared by those who fish these waters, was the ferocious bite of the infamous Blandford Fly. Craftier fishermen know of a different Blandford Fly...

One with a sweeter side and refreshing notes of ginger (said to soothe the dastardly fly’s bite), and with hints of toffee to offset the spice, we think you’ll agree this unique golden ale is quite the catch.

FAQs

Questions brewing? You'll find plenty of helpful answers in our FAQs.

We believe Blandford Fly is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, as no animal-derived ingredients are intentionally used in the brewing process. However, we are not certified by a vegan society and do not routinely test to verify vegan status, so we cannot make an official vegan claim.

At present, we are unable to confirm whether the beer is gluten-free. As gluten is a regulated allergen, confirming a gluten-free claim requires laboratory testing of every batch. While we are exploring options to introduce this capability in the future, we cannot currently guarantee or validate the gluten content.

The sweet spice and ginger notes make this a natural partner for Korean-style squid tacos - a pairing with a little bite and plenty of intrigue.

Our bottled ales are best enjoyed lightly chilled, around 10-14°C. Serving Blandford Fly too cold can mask some of the flavours, while a slightly warmer temperature helps bring out its full character.

A long-standing Badger favourite, Blandford Fly is available year-round, online and in selected stores.

We'd love to see Blandford Fly on the bar too, but with limited cask space in our pubs, we can't pour every beer. Instead, we use our cask lines to showcase a range of Badger classics and seasonal favourites. You'll usually find Blandford Fly chilled and ready to enjoy in bottle form in the fridge though!
